• What is the appropriate number and type of fasteners for connecting wood structural members? What is the maximum allowable spacing of such fasteners? What alternative fastening methods are acceptable?

• What are the height limitations for 2x4 wood studs? For 2x6 studs?

• Where must a bored hole in a stud be located? What is the maximum permitted size of a bored hole located in a bearing wall? In a nonbearing wall?

• What is the maximum notch size allowed in a bearing stud wall? In a nonbearing wall? How are notches and bored holes in a top plate to be addressed?

• What is the method for determining the maximum header span in an interior bearing wall? In an exterior bearing wall? In a nonbearing wall?

• What is a wood structural panel box header? How is a box header to be constructed?

• Where is fire blocking required? What materials can be used as fire blocking?

• How are foundation cripple studs to be sized? When must cripple walls be sheathed?

• How are braced wall lines to be spaced?

• What intermittent methods are acceptable for the construction of braced wall panels?

• What percentage of a braced wall line must consist of braced wall panels? How close to the end of a braced wall line is a braced wall panel required. What is minimum required panel length?

• What alternate methods of construction are provided for braced wall panels? What are the code benefits of continuous structural panel sheathing?

• How do braced wall panels need to be connected to the floor framing and top plates?

• What special conditions apply in Seismic Design Categories D0, D1 and D2?

• What methods are acceptable for connecting top plates of exterior braced wall panels to roof framing members? How are braced wall panels required to be supported?

• What is the simplified wall bracing method? When is it permitted to be utilized?

• What are the general provisions for load-bearing steel wall framing? How are such walls to be fastened. How are connections to be made?

• What is the minimum required thickness of masonry walls? Parapet walls?

• How must masonry walls be laterally supported? What is the minimum spacing between lateral supports? How are walls to be anchored at floors and roofs?

• How shall glass masonry be constructed?

• What limitations are placed on insulating concrete form wall construction?

• What is the performance level required for exterior windows and doors? How must such windows and doors be tested and identified? How should they be attached to the structure?

• What are the applicability limits on the use of structural insulated panel (SIP) walls?

• How are the walls to be connected? What are the limitations for notching and drilling?
