2019 Energy Code Insulation and QII requirements - Webinar

Cost: $35 (Member/Non-Member)

Description: Attendees will receive an overview of the 2019 Energy Code insulation requirements for newly constructed buildings, as well as additions and alterations to existing buildings. Topics will include mandatory and prescriptive requirements, air leakage, U-factor efficiency requirements, quality insulation installation, forms, and Energy Code resources. Building officials, architects, engineers, energy consultants, plans examiners, field inspectors, and counter technicians are encouraged to attend.

Student Learning Objectives:

1.      Understand the Energy Code history and structure

2.      Understand how to navigate the Energy Code and find the applicable sections

3.      Understand the 2019 insulation requirements for nonresidential and residential buildings

Instructors:

Amie Brousseau is an Energy Commission Specialist in the California Energy Commission’s Outreach and Education Unit. She specializes in the building envelope requirements, helping to develop resources and training materials to simplify the Energy Code. Amie is the current editor of the Blueprint newsletter. She has been working with energy efficiency for 10 years doing energy audits, benchmarking, outreach activities and presentations.

Daniel Wong is a licensed mechanical engineer in the California Energy Commission’s Outreach and Education Unit. He specializes in the lighting and electrical power distribution system requirements and helps develop training, tools, and resources to assist enforcement agencies verify compliance with the Energy Code. Daniel has been working in energy efficiency for 8 years performing research, evaluation, implementation, and outreach activities.
