of the December 13, 2003 Meeting and Installation Banquet
President
Mike Rodriguez called the meeting to order at the Woodcreek Oaks Golf Course
Banquet Room in Roseville with 65 members and guests in attendance.
2003
AWARDS
Gene
Paolini announced the awards on behalf of the nominating committee (himself,
Mike Rodriguez and Michael Vieira)
The
Industry Person of the Year
Award
was presented to Rick
Reid. Rick
has been a member of the Board of Directors this year and a very active
participant in the Association.
The
Chuck Coen CRDC Code Review and
Development Award
was presented to Kevin Reinertson
with HCD. He and Larry Leonard, last
year’s recipient spent many hours working with the code development committee,
and represented the Association in Nashville at the ICC ABM in September.
Mike
Rodriguez
was selected to receive the Porcelain
Pony Award.
This award is given to the inspector who “best exemplifies the ideals
of Bullspit and Left-handedness”
The
Bob Stoddard Inspector of the
Year Award
was presented to Rick Swenson
of the City of Roseville. Rick has
worked tirelessly on behalf of the inspector training program.
Outgoing
President Mike Rodriguez awarded the President’s
Award
to Mark Wood
of the City of Davis. Mark has
contributed much to the Association this year with his participation on a number
of committees.

Outgoing
President Mike Rodriguez thanked the Association for its support throughout the
year. This was the first full year
as the Sacramento Valley Association of Building Officials.
While our name changed, the long tradition of participation and
involvement continued and there are exciting times ahead.
Incoming
President Brett Hale thanked Mike for his contributions and echoed his
sentiments for exciting things to come. The
January 9, 2004 meeting will be at Whitney Oaks Golf Course in Rocklin and the
program will be the “State of the Organization”.
Adjournment:
The meeting was adjourned, immediately followed by feasting and
dancing.
